The 8th Welcome Day for Arts & Métiers ParisTech Foreign Students has been full of lessons for the students engineers, the School and our graduates

On March 20th, 68 foreign students from Arts et Métiers ParisTech met at Hôtel d'Iéna for the 8th annual "Welcome Day". Seventeen graduates, Professor Ricardo Noguera, the International Relations team representing the School, as well as members of the student union, were there to greet them.

After general presentations by representatives of the student union, the School, and the Alumni Association, five workshops allowed foreign students to discuss their stay in France. Uninhibited, they discussed all matters relating to their local integration: the organization of their welcome, language barriers on arrival, "Gadzarts" traditions and values, housing, student union, sports, community, etc. Each working group then presented the highlights from these exchanges in the plenary hall "La Rochefoucauld", in the presence of Roland Vardanega (Cluny 1961), President of Arts et Métiers ParisTech alumni association. Mentioned in particular were: "To offer input prior to entry into the regional campuses, taking into account the language barrier to integration in the student group, federation of International Relations officials of the student union, sharing information about the integration between regional campuses, animation of the the web platform dedicated to foreigners."

These remarks have already been taken into account by the "Action Internationale" animation team to improve its support to international students during their discovery of our country and our school.

Roland Vardanega closed the session with a strong message about our "Gadzarts" values, spirit and specificity of Arts et Métiers training; discussions continued during a cocktail party. There is no doubt that these students will later join our alumni association, which must accommodate some 130 foreign graduates of Arts et Métiers ParisTech each year. They are our future ambassadors abroad, and proud to be Gadzarts.
